Eitan Story

Eitan Samuel Stern-Robbins

Silly Circles

I have a story that really does justice to the type of person that Eitan was. It was probably 5th grade. I was over at Eitan’s house, and I do not remember how or why, but we got our hands on some silly string cans. We ran in circles around his basement spraying each other with pounds and pounds of silly string for what felt like hours. The aftermath was incredible – silly string covered everything, except Gabe's desk. I remember Eitan being very explicit about avoiding the desk at all costs. It is still the only time I have gotten to use silly string, and it was the most fun I have ever had just running in circles. My favorite thing about Eitan is I never had a bad time over at his house. He always had stuff for us to do together. I remember coming over to his house a lot, and we would always play in the park nearby. Eitan had some friends from the neighborhood that would sometimes play with us – he was always better at reaching out and talking to people than I was.

In middle school Eitan would always come to school with an Israeli candy that was a gummy kinda thing (it was a berry flavor and was pez shaped and size but it was a gummy). It was probably the most coveted item in the history of the SSDS black market snack trading. People would trade so much for this little stick of candy. (I have still never been able to track down this candy, mainly because I do not remember the name.)
